Some wealthy dumbfuck amateur pilot without an IFR rating who decided to

fly his light aircraft over open ocean in IFR conditions.

He crashed the plane & died.

This is commonly referred to as "felony stupid". Unfortunately, he also

condemned his wife & sister-in-law.

He was from a notorious Boston crime family, with many connections to the

U.S. Government, so the media played it up.
